Ingredients

Chocolate Filling
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Rich, creamy chocolate chips add sweetness.
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar Enhances the chocolate experience.
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream Creates a smooth chocolate filling.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Adds buttery richness.
Puff Pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (defrosted but still cold) Provides a flaky texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. Lightly dust a flat surface and roll out the puff pastry to about 1/4” thickness.
  2. Melt the chocolate with butter, sugar, and heavy cream in the microwave, heating in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  3. Cut the pastry in half to create two smaller rectangles.
  4. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over one rectangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Place the second pastry sheet on top and press the edges to seal.
  6. Cut the layered pastry into 1” wide strips and twist each strip 2-3 times.
  7. Chill the twisted pastry strips in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the twists in the air fryer basket, optionally brushing with egg wash and sprinkling with sugar.
  2. Air fry at 350°F for 10-15 minutes until crispy and golden.
  3. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle sea salt on top before air frying or mix cocoa powder into the chocolate. Storing in an airtight container keeps them fresh for up to 3 days. Freeze unbaked twists for longer storage.
