  • 2 tbsp gochujang paste Adds rich, spicy depth.
  • 2 tbsp mirin Balances spiciness with sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Infuses umami flavor.
  • 1 tbsp honey Natural sweetener that complements gochujang.
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic Offers robust aroma and depth of flavor.
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger Adds zesty warmth and freshness.
For the Chicken
  • 5-6 pieces chicken thighs Juicy and tender, absorbing the marinade beautifully.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, add the avocado oil, gochujang paste, mirin, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Mix well until fully combined, creating a smooth marinade.
  2. Place the chicken thighs into the bowl with the marinade. Toss the chicken until each piece is generously coated.
  3. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the marinated chicken thighs in the basket without overcrowding.
  3. Cook for approximately 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Pair with vibrant greens or rice.

Notes

Consider adding sesame oil or chili flakes to the marinade for enhanced flavor. For extra crispy skin, pat the chicken dry before marinating and spray lightly with cooking oil before air frying.
