Method
Preparation
- Preheat the Air Fryer to 400°F.
- Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until it forms a fragrant paste.
- Coat drumsticks generously with the olive oil mixture, massaging the spices in for even coverage.
Cooking
- Place the drumsticks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are spaced apart.
- Cook for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through after 10 minutes.
- In the last few minutes, baste with BBQ sauce, flip, and baste the other side. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Serving
- Remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and add more BBQ sauce if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the drumsticks in the oil and spice mixture for a few hours or overnight. Experiment with different spices like cumin or chili powder. Make sure there's enough space in the air fryer for best results.
