Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large onion Chopped
  • 1 lb beef stew meat Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 4 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese Melted
  • 1 package (16-ounce) egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Added at the end
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms Sliced

Method

Preparation
  1. Chop the onion and place it in a frying pan with the beef stew meat. Season with garlic salt and cook until the onion starts to become translucent and the meat is browned.
Mix the Sauce
  1. In a bowl, combine the milk, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, and cream cheese, stirring well to remove lumps. Add in the sour cream and fresh mushrooms if desired.
Combine Ingredients in the Crock Pot
  1. Pour the sauce mixture over the browned meat and onions in the Crock Pot. Secure the lid and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
Prepare the Noodles
  1. About 15-20 minutes before serving, boil water and cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Final Touches
  1. After cooking, gently stir the drained noodles into the Crock Pot with the beef and sauce. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Browning the meat adds flavor. Experiment with herbs for additional taste. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir in during the last 30 minutes.
