Method
Preparation of Turnips
- Begin by peeling the turnips and removing any ends. Once prepped, slice them into even pieces about half an inch thick.
- If you notice any moisture, simply pat them dry with a paper towel.
Mixing the Coating
- In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, black pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.
Coat the Fries
- Pour the turnip slices into the bowl and gently toss them in the oil mixture until they are fully coated.
Preheat the Air Fryer
- Set your air fryer to preheat at 180°C (350°F).
Air Frying
- Place the coated turnip fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the fries for about 8 minutes or until the tops start to turn golden brown.
Toss and Cook Further
- After the initial cooking time, shake the basket or gently flip the fries. Cook for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until they reach your preferred level of browning.
Serve Immediately
- Once done, take out the fries and enjoy them hot.
Notes
Cut uniformly for even cooking. Avoid overcrowding in the air fryer for perfect crispiness. Experiment with spices for a personalized flavor.
