  • ½ teaspoon pepper Adds flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder Delivers a warm, savory note.
For assembly
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Creamy and melty, the perfect topping.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Soft and slightly toasted.

Method

Sautéing Vegetables
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the canola or vegetable oil along with the butter. Allow the butter to melt completely.
  2. Once the butter is melted, add the thinly sliced onions. Cook for about 3 minutes until they begin to soften and become translucent.
  3. Introduce the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for an additional 4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Add the Dijon mustard, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce. Remove from heat.
Grilling Patties
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, aiming for a temperature range of 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, seasoning salt, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal parts and form patties slightly larger than your buns.
  4. Grill each side of the patties for 4-6 minutes based on your preferred level of doneness.
  5. During the last 2-3 minutes of grilling, place a slice of Swiss cheese atop each patty, allowing it to melt.
Assembly
  1. Place each patty on a bun and generously spoon the sautéed mushroom mixture on top. Add additional condiments as desired.

Notes

Choose fresh ingredients and mind the grill temperature for best results. Allow patties to rest after grilling for juiciness.
